How to Use Eyeliner Stickers

How to Use Eyeliner Stickers

It’s no secret that eyeliner is difficult to master. If you have shaky hands, then applying eyeliner is probably your Achilles heel. And even those of us with stable hands struggle with creating perfectly symmetrical wings from time to time.

There are a ton of beauty hacks and tools that are meant to make eyeliner application easier. If you’ve ever googled an eyeliner tutorial, then you’re probably familiar with credit cards, tape, and stencils. But let’s be honest, these things can complicate rather than simplify an already tricky process. Enter: eyeliner stickers.

What Are Eyeliner Stickers?

Also known as stick-on eyeliner or adhesive eyeliner, eyeliner stickers are exactly what they sound like: cosmetic stickers in the shape of winged eyeliner that are designed to mimic the look of liquid eyeliner. They’re available in a variety of colors and styles, such as the classic black cat-eye or a glittery winged eyeliner. Depending on the design you get, the eyeliner stickers are placed either on the outer corner of the eyes or above the lash line.

Eyeliner stickers are available in a variety of colors, shapes, and styles.

One of the best things about eyeliner stickers is that they can be worn alone as a simple one-step eyeliner look or applied on top of eyeshadow for a complete eye makeup look.

There are tons of ways to rock an eyeliner sticker. Maybe your eye shape lends itself better to a cat-eye or winged eyeliner sticker, but you can place them pretty much anywhere on your eyelid or under your brow.

As with any trend, there’s always room to play around and experiment. Put a DIY spin on the eyeliner sticker trend by cutting them up or layering them, or apply a sticker above the crease for an effortless editorial look.

To get this look, stick a metallic eyeliner sticker over a nude shimmer eyeshadow, then finish it off with your favorite mascara and lip gloss. If holo isn’t your thing, fret not. You can find eyeliner stickers in glitter, neon, or matte finishes — and even eyeliner stickers made with gems!

If you’re wondering about the longevity of eyeliner stickers,

For anyone who’s challenged in the eyeliner arts, eyeliner stickers could be a total game changer. You can achieve the perfect winged eyeliner in just five simple steps.

How to Apply Eyeliner Stickers

Step 1: Cleanse your lids

If you want your eyeliner sticker to last, it’s best to apply them to cleansed lids. Pour a small amount of oil-free eye makeup remover or micellar water onto a cotton ball. Gently wipe your eyelid to remove any dirt, oil, or leftover makeup, then pat it dry with a clean washcloth.

Step 2: Apply primer

Apply a small amount of eyeshadow primer onto your eyelids and blend it out. This will make your lids slightly tacky and give your eyeshadow and eyeliner sticker more grip.

Step 3: Align the sticker

Hold the eyeliner sticker along the upper lash line and align it to see where it best fits. If it’s too long, trim down the edges until you get the right dimensions.

Step 4: Apply the eyeliner sticker

Peel the sticker from its backing and apply it to your eyelid, starting from the inner corner and moving outwards. Try to place it as close to the lash line as possible and use your ring finger to press it firmly into place.

Pro Tip: Apply the sticker with eyelash glue to extend its wear time.

Step 5: Fill in the gaps

If the eyeliner sticker doesn’t fit perfectly around the curve of your eyes, use a liquid eyeliner to fill in any empty spots and refine the shape of your liner.

How to Remove Eyeliner Stickers

To remove the eyeliner sticker, carefully lift the edge of the sticker from either of the corners of the eye and gently peel it off. Use an eye makeup remover to get rid of any leftover residue.
